Double containment pipe protection is often specified for many industrial applications. More often than not, companies are initiating plans to install dual containment pipe based on recommendations from their internal EHS teams. Hazardous chemicals should be protected from escape in areas where there are chemicals being transported above work stations, or any other potential safety hazards due to exposure of the media. When a leak from the primary pipeline occurs in a double containment system, the fluid is safely contained by the secondary containment pipe. End-users typically implement a leak detection system to alert operators if a leak occurs. These systems can be used in multiple applications, but primarily seen handling chemical and effluent water transfers.
